Layn St-Louis has over 20 years of corporate transaction, fund management and deal structuring experience, with a particular understanding for doing deals in Africa and the Caribbean. He has served as senior management of a $100 million dollar fund focused on the creation of small and medium sized enterprises, and worked at a number of prominent law firms focusing on legislative, regulatory and international transactional matters –inclusive of cross-border financing transactions.
Layn’s corporate expertise include identifying and analyzing portfolio investment opportunities, negotiating and structuring investment terms, performing due diligence, reviewing financial analysis, developing and implementing fundraising approaches, and overseeing growth and exit strategies for companies.
Layn received his undergraduate degree in History from Middlebury College, a Master’s degree in International Education from Harvard University, and, both, a Doctorate of Jurisprudence and Master’s in African History from Howard University. He also attended the Institute of Legal Studies Study of Civil Law and the European Union under the auspices of Tulane University program in Paris, France and has held a number of teaching fellowships. Layn speaks French and Haitian-Creole.
